The Edinburgh Cancer Informatics (ECi) have permission to use the data collection software REDCap, obtaining Caldicott Approval in 2022 to complete study projects on the platform.
REDCap can be used for audits, clinical trials, as well as standard forms.
It is hosted by the University of Edinburgh, is a secure web application for building and managing online surveys and databases. It allows for de-identified data to be entered on completely customisable user-friendly front end, specifically geared to support online and offline data capture. The REDCap Consortium is a vast support network of collaborators which includes thousands of active institutional partners in over one hundred countries.
REDCap offers:
- A fully customisable interface to track validated data entry
- Intuitive CRF navigation for both analysis and data entry
- Ability to import/export large data sets into the program
- Provides basic statistical support
- Additional export capability to common data analysis programs such as R, SPSS and Stata
- Data dictionary and code book generation
